Mob thrashed man, paraded him naked on streets after trying to rape 4-year-old in Nagpur

Nagpur: The angry mob thrashed a 35-year-old man and paraded him naked on the streets after he tried to rape a 4-year-old girl at Pardi area in Nagpur on Sunday evening.

According to the police, the accused Jawahar Vaidya works as a collection agent for the local Co-operative Society bank in the city. As part of his duty, Vaidya visits the house of the girl every day for collecting cash.

On Sunday evening, he found the girl alone playing in the house, where he tried to sexually assault her. Suddenly, the victim's mother returned home, and on hearing her screaming, the locals reached the spot. They caught hold the accused, thrashed him, tied his hands with ropes and paraded him naked on the streets. Later handed him to the police. On receiving the complaint, the police registered a case under the POCSO Act and investigating further.
