Pakistan to take Kashmir issue to International court

Lahore: Pakistan said it will approach the International Court of Justice against India's move on Kashmir, reports Reuters quoting Pakistani media.

"We have decided to take Kashmir case to the International Court of Justice," foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi told ARY News TV.

"The decision was taken after considering all legal aspects."

Tensions between India and Pakistan spiked after India abrogated provisions of Article 370 of the Constitution to withdraw Jammu and Kashmir's special status and bifurcated it into two Union Territories, evoking strong reactions from Pakistan.

India has categorically told the international community that the scrapping of Article 370 of the Constitution to revoke the special status of Jammu and Kashmir was an internal matter and also advised Pakistan to accept the reality.

Army jawan killed

An Indian Army soldier on Tuesday lost his life as Pakistan violated ceasefire along the Line of Control in the Krishna Ghati sector.

The soldier has been identified as Naik Ravi Ranjan Kumar Singh, 36, a resident of Rohtas district in Bihar.

Paying tribute to the braveheart, Indian Army's Northern Command tweeted, "#LtGenRanbirSingh, #ArmyCdrNC and all ranks salute the supreme sacrifice of Naik Ravi Ranjan Kumar Singh and offer deepest condolences to the family."

Twitter clarifies

Twitter, which suspended about 200 accounts of Pakistanis posting about the Kashmir issue, has denied allegations of bias by Islamabad, saying that it enforced policies judiciously and ensured impartiality of all users.

Pakistani government on Monday complained to Twitter about 200 accounts that have been suspended for posting about the Kashmir issue.
