35-year-old private tutor murders wife and kids
NEW DELHI: On Saturday, in the Mehrauli area of South Delhi, a 35-year-old man was arrested for murdering his wife and three children at their residence. The mother-in-law of the man had spotted the bodies in the morning and informed the neighbours, who called the police instantly.
Upendra Shukla, a private tutor, was found in the same room along with the dead bodies, said his mother-in-law.
Police have said that, with the help of a knife he had slit the throat of his wife, two minor daughters and son. His eldest daughter was seven-years-old while the son was two years younger. Upendra also murdered his two-month-old daughter.
According to initial interrogation, it has been indicated that, due to a financial crisis Upendra committed the murders as he was depressed.
The DCP of South, Vijay Kumar said that, police received the information at 7:10 AM in the morning. He said Upendra murdered his children and wife at night. Upendra also wrote a note admitting that he has committed the crime.
"Upendra Shukla was staying in Mehrauli with his family and used to give private tuition. He murdered his wife and 3 children by slitting their throats. The knife used for committing the murders has been recovered. He has written a note admitting to the crime," Kumar said.
