AAP government did nothing, only halted development works started by Congress: Sheila Dikshit

New Delhi: Former Chief Minister and Congress' Delhi unit president Sheila Dikshit on Tuesday released a 'report card' of the four-and-a-half-year rule of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the city-state, saying that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal dispensation has been "a total failure" in delivering its promises.

Launching a scathing attack on her rival parties, Dikshit said, "AAP government and the BJP government together destroyed the path of development that was charted out by the Congress government with great efforts. AAP government, on its own, did nothing, and only halted the development works started by the Congress government."

She also accused Kejriwal government of spending Rs 611 crores on self-publicity in the last four years.

Dikshit also accused the Central and state governments of neglecting the national capital.

"AAP government lied to the people of Delhi on education, health, transport, water, and electricity without doing anything to improve services on these sectors," she said.

"The AAP also misled the people of Delhi on burning issues like women's safety and security, sealing, pollution, and unauthorized colonies."

Dikshit, who has served Delhi as chief minister for three terms, is contesting this Lok Sabha election as a Congress candidate for the North East Delhi Parliamentary constituency.
