Airport Nursery launched at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi
New Delhi: The country's largest airport nursery was launched at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi today on the occasion of World Environment Day.
Delhi International Airport Limited Dial today informed that this nursery built near the airport has one lakh 16 thousand types of indoor plants which can be placed in pots inside the houses. It is spread over four lakh square feet and is the largest nursery built at any airport in the country.
It is also the largest Hitech nursery in North India. It has a digital system for temperature control and an automated system for irrigation. The irrigation system is automated also makes it easy to control temperature and humidity. Dial said that in the nursery there are 40,000 types of plants from the 'daisy' family whose flowers are used to beautify the houses in every season while 60 thousand plants are of seasonal flowers. More than sixty species of plants will be placed in the terminal building and other such areas of the airport where passengers can see them.
