Anupam Kher shares a video, asks people to say Namaste instead of handshake to prevent Coronavirus

As the Coronavirus is fast spreading across the globe claiming many lives, the governments of various countries are trying to bring awareness about the Covid 19 virus and giving valuable instructions to the people to stay safe. In the latest development, the virus has entered India with one from Delhi and the other from Hyderabad tested positive on Monday, March 2.

Many countries such as French, America, England, China are suggesting not shake hands in the name of greeting, India has found a Desi way of preventing the virus being spread by asking everyone to go with Namaste instead of shaking hands to prevent the virus. Twitter also flooded with suggestions and measures. Off late the actor, Anupam Kher is the latest one to join the group who posted a video sharing the measures to be taken to prevent the deadly virus. He suggested people greet each other with a namaste and it immediately went viral.

In the tweet, he wrote, "Of late I am being told by lots of people to keep washing hands to prevent any kind of infection. I do that in any case. But also want to suggest the age-old Indian way of greeting people called #Namaste. It is hygienic, friendly & centres your energies. Try it. Folded hands folded hands #coronavirus."

"Namaste is much better, it also puts your energies together. Rather than shaking hands or hugging each other for some time, I think it is important that we are careful," Anupam said in the video.
