Anurag Thakur, Minister of state and finance Promoted to captain rank in Territorial Army
New Delhi: Anurag Thakur, Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs became Captain on Wednesday as a regular commissioned officer in the Territorial Army.
He is the first MP and Minister to serve as a regular commissioned officer in the Territorial Army, serving as a Captain. He was commissioned into the Territorial Army as a lieutenant in July 2016.
Sharing a video of the event on Twitter, Thakur wrote, 'I was commissioned as a lieutenant in the Territorial Army in July 2016. Today I am honoured to share this news that I have been promoted to the rank of Captain. I was and will always remain committed to service to the people and duty to Mother India.'
