Arun Jaitley, a sportsman & cricket lover
Former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley is not just a politician, lawyer and writer, but also a sportsman. He liked cricket and he also served in Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) and Board of Cricket in India (BCCI). He played cricket during his college days.
"Before I got into politics, I was a sportsman representing my country. We sportsmen are emotional fools, since we just represent our country. I believe in oneness of India. I believe in all the religions equally. I don't belong to any religion, caste or creed. I am a sportsperson. I believe in my country," he said in an interview with Dhairya Maheswari published on National Herald.
Jaitley was the vice president of BCCI, but resigned after the IPL fixing scandal. Similarly, He resigned from the post of president of DDCA after serving for 13 years to focus on politics. He made great contribution in improving the standards of the stadium in Delhi, which was rated as one of the best stadiums by BCCI. He provided many opportunities to budding sportsmen. He liked Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir.
