Ayodhya Verdict Out: Unanimous Judgment in favour of people from Hindu faith, Muslims to get alternate land
New Delhi: A Supreme Court constitution bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi has pronounced its judgment in the Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title suit today. There are fourteen petitions that were addressed today. The CJI has started reading out the judgment and said that it would take half an hour for him to do so, starting out.
Possession of the land will be taken over by the government, post which it will be given to the trust. The government has been ordered to form a trust within three months. Nirmohi Akhara's personnel will be a part of the trust.
An alternate piece of land of 5 acres will be given to the Sunni Waqf Board.
CJI has said that archaeological investigations have been the basis of the judgment. According to the ASI report, there was a temple underneath the structure, for which the evidence was presented. "Hindus believe that Ayodhya is the birth place of Ram.
Tight Security arrangements have been made across the country to avoid any untoward incident after the Supreme Court delivers its historic judgement in the politically-sensitive Ramjanmbhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute case. Security has also been beefed up in and around the Supreme Court. Schools and colleges have been closed and section 144 has been imposed in Uttar Pradesh and several other states.
