CBI arrests PNB manager for taking Rs 1 lakh bribe to disburse loan

New Delhi: The CBI has arrested a Punjab National Bank (PNB) senior manager for taking a bribe of Rs 1 lakh for disbursing loan for the purchase of buffaloes.

The CBI officials laid a trap and caught red-handedly senior manager Sumer Singh and his accomplice Satish. This incident happened at PNB's Kanwali branch in Rewari district of Haryana.

According to the complaint, The Animal Husbandry department has approved Rs 24.72 lakh to the complainant for running a dairy unit in Kushpura. The accused was demanding a bribe of Rs 1 lakh in lieu of part disbursement of Rs. 7.92 lakh against the purchase of buffaloes.

The bank manager allegedly directed the complainant to hand over the bribe amount to a middleman Satish. In this context, the complainant has approached the CBI. The two accused were arrested while accepting a bribe.
