Change in TPCC leadership ruled out
New Delhi: Congress high command has put all speculations about a change in the TPCC leadership to rest after several seniors complained to AICC about 'efforts of parachute leaders' to grab the top position.
Senior Congress leaders, who had converged here, expressed their displeasure over the news leaks by Revanth Reddy on the change of leadership to the media. They also expressed apprehensions that the given political scenario did not give room for any hasty manoeuvres at this juncture in the State.
The TRS popularity was dipping and it was time for the party to put up a united face to stop BJP from occupying the space.
They also assured the party leadership that Congress stood a better chance in the ensuing municipal elections if the present leadership is not disturbed.
Following this, the AICC first directed Bhatti Vikramarka to clarify to the Telugu media that no change was proposed and to scotch all rumours.
Next, senior Congress leader, Khuntia, also interacted with media to reiterate this. He went on to add that the party was looking at winning the municipal elections rather than at the leadership issue.
