Delhi: Congress MP leader Shashi Tharoor has moved to a Delhi court seeking permission to travel to three different countries on different dates. The reason for him seeking permission in the case is because he is currently out on bail in the murder case of his wife, Sunanda Pushkar.

Starting from November 14 to 18, Shashi Tharoor will be in Dubai. He is scheduled to be in Oman from December 15 to 17 and hopes to travel to the USA and Mexico from December 28 to January to attend a family get-together.

On January 17, 2014, Sunanda Pushkar was found dead in a luxury hotel's suite. Her husband Shashi Tharoor was charged under various sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC) including abatement to suicide and cruelty. The verbose leader was granted bail on a condition that in order for him to travel to another country, he needs to take the court's permission.

During the case trials, police told the court that Sunanda Pushkar was suffering from acute mental distress due to a bad relationship with her husband, Tharoor. A few days before her death, she had fought with her husband and had various injury marks on her body. The police accused Shashi Tharoor of torturing his wife and charged him for abatement to commit suicide.

During the murder case trial, the probe agency found that according to Sunanda Pushkar's post mortem reports, her cause of death was due to poisoning. 15 injury marks were also found on various parts of her body, including on forearm, arms and legs. The prosecutor told the court that Shashi Tharoor's alleged relationship with Pakistani journalist Mehr Tarar added to Sunanda Pushkar's mental distress.
