Coronavirus Count Climbs To 1,12,359, Maharashtra Continues To Record High Numbers

The novel coronavirus continues to rage through the country with the total number of cases now rising to 1,12,359 across all states, as per the data put out by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. There are 63,624 active cases while 45,299 patients have been cured or discharged of COVID-19 across the country. The total number of deaths due to the deadly pandemic stands at 3,435.

Maharashtra leads the states in the total number of COVID-19 cases, as has been the pattern over the past several days. The state has now reported 39,297 cases, more than a third of the country's case-load, with 1,390 deaths. There have been 10,318 cases of recovered patients in the state so far.

Tamil Nadu follows Maharashtra in the total number of COVID-19 cases reported by states. The southern state has so far reported 13,191 confirmed cases with a very low death rate of 87 fatalities. Tamil Nadu has reported recoveries of 5,882 patients.

Gujarat has also been reporting high numbers of COVID-19 cases and has reported 12,537 confirmed cases so far with a very high fatality rate of 749 deaths. Gujarat has reported 5219 cases of recovered patients.

Delhi has reported 11,088 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 176 deaths, while 5,192 patients have either been cured or have been discharged.

Rajasthan has crossed the 6,000 mark with the total number of COVID-19 cases in the state rising to 6,015. The state has reported 147 deaths, while 3,404 patients have recovered.

Madhya Pradesh has recorded 5,735 confirmed Coronavirus cases with a high fatality rate of 267 deaths. 2,733 patients have recovered in the state so far.
