Coronavirus LIVE Updates: PM Modi addresses the nation over deadly virus, proposes Janata Curfew on Sunday
As the deadly disease coronavirus is fast spreading in India, governments of all the states have alerted and taken measures with utmost care. Since the number of corona confirmed cases have increased on Thursday, which is creating panic all over the country, the prime minister Narendra Modi has come up to create strength among the citizens and is addressing the nation. He is expected to announce several measures and steps to contain the deadly coronavirus outbreak.
In the speech, the prime minister has said that the deadly virus is the only topic that is shaking the world, which has no cure. Modi advised the people to be extra cautious in dealing with the virus.
Earlier, the centre has requested the states to avail work form homes for private-sector employees, except for those working in emergency and essential services.
PM Modi has requested the citizens to inform at least 10 people of the Janata Curfew. "If possible, please call at least 10 people every day and tell them about the 'Janta Curfew' as well as the measures to prevent,"
At 5 pm, all the citizens are requested by the prime minister to encourage the people working in essential services, in the times of coronavirus, by standing in their doorways and clapping and ringing their bells.
The Janata Curfew on Sunday will start at 7 am and continue till 9 pm.

PM Modi warned people against hoarding and panic buying. "I want to reassure that all steps are being taken to ensure that the supply of milk, medicines and food does not stop. Do not hoard, be sensitive towards the need of others," he said.
