Coronavirus Spread: Indore Remains Hotspot In Madhya Pradesh

Indore: The total number of Coronavirus positive cases in Indore in Madhya Pradesh, has now risen to 2016, making the city one of the top hotspots in the country. It also contributes the most to the case-loads of MP.

Indore has reported 92 deaths so far while 926 patients of COVID-19 have recovered. With 81 new positive cases of COVID-19 getting reported on Monday, the count crossed 2000.

The Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) sent to Madhya Pradesh had observed that the numbers of coronavirus positive cases were likely to go up in the first and second weeks of May. It also predicted that the pandemic could spread in the state.

The district administration in Indore is reported to have stated that it has taken adequate steps for the admission of close to 2500 Coronavirus positive patients. The authorities have also increased the level of testing. On Monday 1418 samples were tested out of which 5.71% tested positive.

Ujjain is the other major hotspot in the state and had reported 23 COVID-19 positive cases on Monday alone. The total number of coronavirus positive cases in Ujjain has now climbed to 264. The district has recorded 45 deaths so far.

Madhya Pradesh has so far reported 3785 cases of Coronavirus with 221 deaths. The state has reported 1747 cases of recovered patients. The mortality rate in Madhya Pradesh which has reported 221 deaths, has been a source of concern for the local authorities as well as the Centre.
