Coronavirus Update: India COVID-19 Tally Crosses 2.75 Lakh Mark
The coronavirus pandemic continues to rage through the country recording more numbers with each passing day. As per the latest update put out on Wednesday morning by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in India has now risen to 2,76,583 with 7,745 deaths. The country once again recorded nearly 10,000 cases over the last 24 hours.
India now has 1,33,632 active cases across the states, while 1,35,206 patients have been cured or discharged.
Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Gujarat and Rajasthan have been contributing the bulk of the cases to the overall caseload in the country.
Maharashtra continues to remain the worst-hit state in the country with the state's COVID-19 tally crossing 90,000 and now mounting to 90,787. Maharashtra has reported a death count of 3,289.
Tamil Nadu has been another state badly hit by the coronavirus pandemic. The overall tally in the state has now reached nearly 35,000 and has now reached 34,914. Tamil Nadu has a relatively low death rate and has recorded 307 fatalities.
Delhi has been facing the brunt of the coronavirus spread among northern states, with the total count of confirmed coronavirus in the national capital climbing to 31,309 . The Delhi death count has reached 905.
Gujarat is among the worst-affected states in the country with the bulk of cases in the western state coming from Ahmedabad. The state tally has now reached 21,014 with the death count mounting to 1,313.
Uttar Pradesh's urban centres like Lucknow, NOIDA, Meerut and Kanpur continue to remain a source of concern for the authorities. UP has recorded 11,335 confirmed coronavirus cases and 301 deaths.
Rajasthan's has reported 11,245 confirmed coronavirus patients so far with 255 deaths.
Madhya Pradesh has reported close to 10,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases. The total count in the state now stands at 9,849 with a high mortality rate of 420 deaths.
West Bengal has so far reported 8995 cases of coronavirus with 415 deaths.
Karnataka has reported 5,921 cases of COVID-19 with 66 deaths.
Bihar has seen a sharp spike in the number of COVID-19 cases with the tally mounting to 5459 and 32 deaths.
