Delhi Election Results 2020: Early Leads For AAP

Update: 2020-02-11 09:03 IST

As counting got underway for 70 assembly constituencies in Delhi early leads for Aam Aadmi party (AAP) became clear. Poll trends in the first half an hour of counting showed AAP crossing the majority mark leading in about 44 constituencies.

All the big guns of AAP, supremo Arvind Kejriwal, deputy chief Minister Manish Sisodia in Patparganj, Satyendra Jain in Shakur Basti, Dilip Pandey from Timarpur, Amanatullah Khan in Okhla, Health Minister Gopal Rai in greater Kailash, Atishi Marlena in Kalkaji, Raghav Chadha in Rajinder Nagar, and Somnath Bharti in Malviya Nagar, appear to be leading as early trends indicated.

The BJP appeared to be leading in pockets of west Delhi as seen in early trends. However, it stood way behind in the trends with AAP running away with the leads. In Hari Nagar, BJP's high-profile candidate Tajinder Singh Bagga is trailing as per early indications. The party seemed to be leading in Rohini and Najafgarh constituencies. Alka Lamba of Congress also seemed to be trailing from the Chandni Chowk constituency.
