Dense fog shrouds Delhi after rains

A thick fog enveloped the capital Delhi on Monday morning, while the minimum temperature rose to 11.4 degrees Celsius due to a cloud cover over the city, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
A weather department official said fog lowered visibility to 50 metres at Safdarjung and 150 metres at Palam around 7.30 am. According to the IMD, "very dense" fog is when visibility is between 0 and 50 metres. In case of "dense" fog, visibility is between 51 and 200 metres, "moderate" 201 and 500 metres, and "shallow" 501 and 1,000 metres.
