PM Modi, Amit Shah Salute Medics Waging COVID-19 Fight on National Doctors Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, hailed the contribution of doctors on the occasion of Doctor's Day. The Prime Minster, in a Twitter post said, "India salutes our doctors."

PM Modi described the doctors as "exceptional care-givers who are at the forefront of a spirited fight against COVID-19."

Union Home Minister Amit Shah took to Twitter to hail the contribution of doctors. Amit Shah's tweet said, "On Doctor's Day, I salute our brave Doctors who have been leading the battle against COVID-19 at the forefront. Their uttermost commitment to keep the nation safe and healthy in these challenging times is truly exceptional." The Home Minister concluded his message by saying that the "nation salutes their devotion and sacrifice."

Congress leader and Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi spoke to nurses on the occasion of Doctor's Day and shared excerpts from his conversation. Rahul Gandhi in a tweet said, "I am immensely grateful to the dedicated professionals who inspire hope in #Covid19 times.Today at 10 am, watch 4 dedicated nurses in conversation with me about the Covid crisis and how we should react to it."

Vice-president of India Venkaiah Naidu also posted a series tweets hailing the contribution of doctors.

The Vice-President in a tweet said, "On this Doctor's Day, I pay my tributes to Dr. B.C. Roy, former Chief Minister of West Bengal & legendary physician, who made invaluable contribution to the development of medical field in India."

Venkaiah Naidu, in another tweet added, "I also extend my greetings and good wishes to doctors across the nation for their selfless service to humanity. In times of grave health emergencies like the current COVID pandemic, the doctors of our country have always bravely donned the mantle of being our frontline warriors."
