Evident Acts of Perversion: Alleged Pedophile Vimal Chand taken into custody
MEERUT: On Thursday, the searches which were conducted by the crime branch at the house of alleged pedophile Vimal Chand, a large cache of pornographic material was seized.
According to police, before sexually abusing them, the accused would make his victim watch porn on the laptop. This was evident in the several CCTV footages which were captured from his bedroom.
Meerut SSP Nitin Tiwari had claimed that, the reason for the accused to install 13 CCTV cameras in a house with almost no security threat, explains that he used the CCTV recordings for voyeurism.
"This is our observation that he most likely watched himself in the act with minor girls," SSP Tiwari said.
Later, the CCTV cameras were removed after a technician, who had downloaded the footage from his DVR and was using it to allegedly extort money.
Sona Kaushal Gupta, a Dehradun-based psychologist had called it an act of perversion. "It is possible that this instinct of perversion was there in him right from the beginning and it was not very obvious to other people. This personality disorder gradually manifests into illness later on in life. Perversion is mental illness and there can be no preventive measure except that we make victims more aware about such predators. Perversion can be checked at younger age when a person is acting irrational or behaving loose. Counseling can help that time," Gupta said.
