Explosion At Lucknow Court: 3 Lawyers Injured
Lucknow: A crude bomb exploded at the Lucknow Sessions court premises on Thursday, injuring at least three lawyers present there. Two more live bombs were recovered from the site and are reported to have been defused by the police. The injured lawyers have been shifted to a hospital and treated for injuries, which are stated to be minor in nature.
Police are probing the incident and suspect that the blast is related to group rivalry.
It is being suspected that members of one group attacked another using the bomb and that there is an internal rivalry between two groups of lawyers. Police suspect that one of the lawyers, Sanjeev Lodhi was the target. Lodhi has been declared safe. Police are likely to provide him with necessary security cover.
The courtroom complex was teeming with lawyers when the explosion took place resulting in injuries to some lawyers.
Questions have been raised on the security aspect related to the case since the sessions court in Lucknow is located in a busy area where other government offices are also situated.
