House Wall Collapses in Mumbai, 14 Rescued

Mumbai: Fourteen persons were rescued after the wall of a house in northern Mumbai suburb Kandivali collapsed on Sunday morning, an official said.

Four to five people are possibly trapped after the wall of the house behind Sabria Masjid in Dalji Pada area collapsed and rescue operation is underway, a National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) official said.

Firemen searching for more trapped persons. Locals said that around 5 more persons are trapped in the debris.

Fire officials said that one portion of the chawl partly collapsed. People sleeping inside unable to come out. Firemen cut the window grill and safely rescued those who were trapped on the upper floor with the help of a ladder.
