How Much Does A Private Chartered Flight Cost?
Private Chartered Flight Cost: After months of lockdown, India's aviation sector opened up resuming flight operations in several parts of the country. While government put a cap on the fares to prevent airline companies from jacking up the ticket prices, a few rich families were more than willing to shell out exorbitant amount not wanting to risk the infection.
A family of four in Delhi booked an entire flight Airbus 320 which has a capacity to carry 180 people on board. The family included four passengers--woman and her two kids along with a nanny. The chartered flight with just the crew and passengers ferried the passengers from Delhi to Bhopal. Industry people estimate that the trip would have cost the family at least Rs 10 lakhs.
With the fear of infection looming large in the wake of the pandemic, airline companies seem to be getting a lot of enquiries for flying passengers on chartered flights.
Besides the low cost of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) is making it convenient for passengers as they are able to afford the luxury with just a few extra bucks. Even big corporates are said to be using this facility to avoid travelling in crowds.
The cost of chartering an A320 is expected to range between 4-5 lakh an hour. The demand for chartered flights is said to have gone up in the recent past. The Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru is said to have seen three such instances ever since flight operations opened up.
Before the international flight operations came to a grinding halt, a family of three in Europe is believed to have spent a whopping 80 lake to hire a chartered flight to return to India just before the lockdown started.
