India Blacklists 2200 Foreign Tablighi Jamaat Attendees For 10 Years

India has blacklisted some foreign Tablighi Jamaat attendees for ten years. Some 2200 foreign Tablighi Jamaat members who were on a tourist visa, attended the religious congregation held in New Delhi.

As per reports, the Union Home Ministry has blacklisted all the foreign attendees from 47 nations who were present at the Delhi Markaz.

Earlier, countries could ban visitors over terrorist tag but now a new provision could be formulated to blacklist tourists. It is a known fact that India is pretty miffed about the way the Nizamuddin Markaz played out leading to an instant spike in the number of coronavirus cases. Besides, these Tablighi Jamaat attendees violated visa norms to take part in the event.

Sri Lanka, the US, Syria, Belgium, Brazil, Australia and Afghanistan, Myanmar, Sudan, Singapore, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Philippines, Russia are some of the countries from where these Tablighi Jamaat members came.
