Indian-American body roots for breaking China's monopoly

Hyderabad: While condemning the recent Chinese aggression in Galwan Valley, Ladakh, the Indian Association of Sacramento (IAS) in a petition to 'International community' appealed to suspend trade negotiations with China until they retreat from Indian territory and to strengthen Indian defence forces with logistic and equipment in dealing with the aggression.

The association based in California expressed 'deep concern' with the Chinese government's dangerous acts of aggression along LAC (Line of Actual Control) on the border, at Galwan valley. "The Chinese armed forces launched an unprovoked military operation inside Indian territory, trapped Indian soldiers, brutally attacked and killed them. We mourn the loss of brave Indian soldiers and we offer our deepest condolences to their families," the association members said.

Earlier on Sunday, over 150 Indian-Americans located in the Greater Sacramento area of California met online and paid tributes to 20 Indian army personnel who sacrificed their lives in a bloody scuffle with Chinese soldiers in the Galwan valley of Ladakh on the border.

In the meet organised by the assocation friends of Late Col Santosh Babu who was one of the 20 martyrs recalled the services of the brave hearts and all of them observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect for their sacrifice.

President Shivesh Sinha requested the audience to take baby steps to find alternatives to Chinese products to break China's monopoly over certain market segments. Bhaskar Vempati, association's vice-president, Lekha Itagi, representative of local Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS) chapter, Colonel Santhosh Babu's school friend Venkateswarlu Nuvvuluri, Colonel Rao who worked in the Armed Forces and others spoke during the online meet. Indian American girl from a local middle school, Sohini sang the patriotic song 'aye mere watan ke logo' during the meet.
