Indian Navy's 'Albatross' completes 6 years of operations

Arakkonam: Indian Navy's P8I Long Range Maritime Reconnaissance Anti Submarine Warfare (LRMRASW) aircraft of Indian Naval Air Squadron 312, also called 'Albatross', completed 6 years of operations since induction on May 15, 2013.

The LRMRASW is stationed in INAS 312 which is an Indian naval air squadron based at INS Rajali.

The Navy's first long-range Maritime Reconnaissance squadron was commissioned with five ex IAF Super Constellation aircraft on November 8, 1976.

Commodore R D Dhir was the commissioning Squadron Commander. The squadron was originally based at INS Hansa, Goa.
