Insha Allah, aman hoga
New Delhi: National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval on Wednesday assured the people affected by riots in northeast Delhi that there will be peace and harmony in the region soon. "Inshah Allah, aman hoga," he said.
"My message is that everyone who loves their country - also loves their society, their neighbour. Everyone should live with love and harmony with others.
People should try to resolve each others' problems and not increase them," Doval told people during his visit to the violence-hit areas on Wednesday.
NSA Doval said that there was a sense of unity among the people. "There is no enmity. A few criminals do things like this (spread violence), people are trying to isolate them.
Police are here and doing their work. We are here as per the orders of the home minister and prime minister. Inshallah, yahan par bilkul aman hoga."
Ajit Doval claimed that the situation in the violence-hit northeast Delhi was under control and the police were doing their job.
He was greeted warmly at some places, but at a location, two agitated locals complained about the violence. This is his second visit to the riot-hit areas in less than 24 hours.
At Jaffrabad, a young girl walked up to him and said she does not feel safe in the area. She also blamed the police for "inaction" when rioters went on a rampage.
To her, he said, "I give you my word. Everyone is safe here." He also asked police personnel to ensure that the girl reaches home safely. Doval said he was there as per the instructions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
"The situation is under control and people are satisfied. We have confidence in law enforcement agencies. Police are doing their job and are alert," he told reporters.
Soon after his visit to the riot-affected areas, Doval met Shah. He briefed the Home Minister about the current law and order situation in northeast Delhi and steps taken to bring back normalcy there.
Union home secretary Ajay Bhalla, Director of Intelligence Bureau Arvind Kumar and Commissioner of Delhi Police Amulya Patnaik attended the meeting.
Before he took stock of the situation on the ground, Doval held a meeting with Delhi Police Special Commissioner (Law and Order) SN Srivastava, who was appointed to the post on Tuesday evening, Special Commissioner of Police (Crime) Satish Golcha and Deputy Commissioner of Police Northeast Ved Prakash Surya.
