IRCTC booking: 4 lakh train tickets sold out in 4 hours
Bookings for 200 trains that are scheduled to run from June 1 have been opened today on the IRCTC website from 10 am. People awaiting the train services can rush the ticket booking before they were sold off as no tatkal and premium tatkal bookings are available for these trains.
Many of the migrants and those who stranded with different reasons can book the tickets on the IRCTC website. Meanwhile, bookings at the common service centres will begin from Friday and at the counter of different stations in the next two or three days.
It may be clarified that the 200 trains were scheduled in addition to the air-conditioned and shramik special trains which were started earlier.
Union minister for railways, Piyush Goyal said that nearly 4 lakh tickets have been booked for second class passenger trains. Besides the people returning to their native places, many people began reverse bookings to go back to work, the minister said.
Train services have been suspended across the country on March 22 when the Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the one-day nationwide lockdown.
