IYC protested against the government on many issues including Manipur violence
New Delhi: The Indian Youth Congress demonstrated against the central government on Tuesday over plenty of issues, including the violence in Manipur, price hike, and unemployment.Thousands of Indian Youth Congress leaders and workers assembled at Jantar Mantar for a 'Parliament gherao' with anti-Centre placards and slogans. In light of the Youth Congress's demonstration, a large police force has been deployed on the scene to provide security.
The protests were led by Srinivas BV, the organization's national president. This demonstration was also attended by Congress politicians such as Pawan Khera, Alka Lamba, and Supriya Shrinate."This is a call to save Manipur from the violence unfolding right under the nose of the BJP government," protesters said. Also, Shrinate asserted that the truth cannot be kept hidden for long and that Manipur's voice will soon be heard in Parliament. It is worth mentioning that more than 160 people have been killed in the ethnic clashes in Manipur since May 3.
