JD(U) seeks removal of NPR column

Ahead of the budget on Saturday, PM Modi attended the meeting of the NDA floor leaders in Parliament, during which the JD(U), a key ally of the BJP, demanded the removal of 'parents detail' in the NPR exercise.

Sources said the Janata Dal-United (JD-U) has urged Modi to remove the parents detail column in the National Population Register (NPR) form.

The Opposition has also stressed on removal of an additional six columns which seeks details of parents.
