Kadaknath hens flung in air at Fadnavis convoy
Sangli: Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis was on his routine rally to Sangli when Kadaknath chickens were flung in air as a form of protest.
Chickens belonging to the Kadaknath breed were flung in front of CM Devendra Fadnavis' cavalcade in protest against the absence of probe in the alleged scam which is reportedly cost Rs 550 crore.
A company named Maharat Agro India Private Limited was given small Kadaknath chickens and some money to the farmers of the area and said that if they were enlarged and returned to the company, their full amount would be paid.
According to the farmers, after three months when the big hens were handed over to the company, the company did not give them the money and the company escaped by taking the hens. 42 farmers have filed a police complaint against the company.
The protesters were able to put across their point in front of the state government despite the Maharashtra police issuing an alert on Monday.
In a letter to the Veterinary officer of Sangli, Maharashtra Police had said that there was a possibility that farmers who were victims of the alleged scam would throw these chickens in the air.
