Kamal Nath Hands Meets MP Governor, Alleges Horse-Trading By BJP

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath meets Governor Lalji Tandon at Raj Bhavan in Bhopal.

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath met Governor Lalji Tandon in the state capital on Friday and demanded a floor test in the state assembly ahead of the Budget Session. The chief minister accused the BJP of horse-trading and asked the Governor to ensure that the 22 MLAs who are held 'captive' are 'released.' Kamal Nath handed over a letter to the MP governor alleging horse-trading by the BJP.

Addressing the media after his meeting with the Governor, Kamal Nath said that he was ready for a floor test and if the BJP had the required confidence, they should produce all the 'captive' MLAs before the media. The Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister said that the entire country was watching the developments in the state and was witnessing how 22 MLAs were held captive by the BJP.

Questioned about the effect of coronavirus on the Budget Session of the state assembly, Kamal Nath sarcastically said that Coronavirus had gripped the politics of the state.

Madhya Pradesh politics have gone into a state of turmoil as the tussle between Jyotiradia Scindia and senior Congress leaders, Digvijay Singh and Kamal Nath intensified forcing the former Guna MP to quit the party and join the BJP. Scindia is set to file his nomination for the Rajya Sabha at 2 pm on Friday. The Congress has nominated Digvijay Singh to the Rajya Sabha from MP.
