Karnataka Minister's Son Allegedly Involved In Hit-And-Run Accident: 2 Killed

Bengaluru: Karnataka Minister R Ashok's son was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run accident in Hospet in Bellary on Monday, in which two people were killed. One of them is believed to have been his co-passenger in the speeding Mercedes, while the other was a man in a tea stall on the road. When asked, the Karnataka Minister told media that the police are probing the incident and that it would not be proper on his part to comment on it. He also claimed that the police would investigate the matter thoroughly and about 200 people were present when the highway accident took place.

Meanwhile, the leaders of the Karnataka Congress have hit out at the BS Yediyurappa government for hushing up the case.

The incident comes on the heels of two other accident allegedly involving sons of VVIPs in Karnataka. On Sunday, Mohd. Nalapad, son of a Congress MLA, was allegedly driving a speeding Bentley which struck an auto and a bike causing injuries to two. While Nalapad denied that he was driving the car, joint Commissioner of traffic Bengaluru, Gowda claimed that the police had evidence that Nalapad was at the wheel. The senior police official said that another person showed up claiming that he was driving the Bentley. Nalapad surrendered to the police, although he claimed that he had been sitting in a Lamborghini car which was in front at the time of the accident.

A few days ago, a businessman driving a speed Lamborghini drove into a traffic police booth in Bengaluru.
