Lovers commit suicide by jumping before train in TN

Cuddalore: In a tragic incident, lovers had committed suicide by jumping before a train as their elders said no to their marriage. This incident happened in Tamil Naidu.

Going into details, a young woman Swathi (22), of Thorapadi village near Panruti in Cuddalore district is studying nursing. While going to college, she made meet with Madan (22), who is a bike mechanic from Kotlambakkam, which later turned into a love affair.

With this, both decided to get married and told their parents. But the proposal was refused by both the family elders and warned to end their love story. Over the decision, both became very upset and went near the railway tracks at the Panapakkam area on Monday night.

The couple ran on the railway tracks and jumped before Chennai-Rameshwaram express. The loco pilot, who noticed them, tried to stop the train but was not possible and they were crushed under the wheels and died on the spot. On receiving the information for the loco pilot, Cuddalore railway police reached the spot and shifted the dead bodies to the hospital for post-mortem.
