Update: 2019-11-30 13:47 IST

The newly-appointed Chief Minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray is set to prove his majority in the state assembly today. The alliance government in Maharashtra faces a trust vote in the assembly. The floor test comes after a week of major developments that fired off after a surprise oath by the BJP's Devendra Fadnavis and his eventual resignation 4 days later.

Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray heads the alliance of the Shiv Sena, Sharad Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and the Congress, also called Maha Vikas Aghadi.

The temporary Speaker for the special two-day session of the Maharashtra assembly appointed is Dilip Walse Patil from NCP.
