Manipur holds Chilli Festival
Sirarakhong (Manipur): Manipur celebrated a two-day spiciest Chilli Festival with fun and folk dance by the youths of the local village.
The 10th Hathei Phanit (Chilli Festival) at Sirarakhong village in Ukhrul district to exhibit the uniqueness of the chillies grown there and its high commercial value.
Manipur claims that no other state in India can claim that they are producing the same variety and is sort of copyright of the village. This chilli has lots of nutritional value.
It has high content of calcium and good potential to be exported to other countries.
It is learnt that a similar chilli festival is likely to be held in Telangana soon. Telangana also has very good quality chillies with high nutritional values.
