Markaz Event: Delhi Police To File 20 Charge-Sheets Against 83 Foreign Nationals
New Delhi: Delhi Police is set to file 20 charge sheets against 83 foreign nationals, in a Saket court, in connection with Tablighi Jamaat case, the news agency ANI reported on Tuesday.

More than 900 foreign nationals from over 60 different countries are reported to have attended the religious event organised by the Tablighi Jamaat in March. The foreign nationals had come to India on tourist visas and had reportedly violated visa norms by attending the Markaz event.
According to media reports, police are set to file 20 charge-sheets in a district court at Saket on Tuesday. The Delhi Police will be filing these charge-sheets against 83 foreign nationals. Police are also likely to file more charge sheets in the days to come, media reports said.
The charge-sheet to be filed by the Delhi Police is reported to name 83 foreign nationals who had attended the Ijtemah or religious congregation organized at Markaz Nizamuddin by the Tablighi Jamaat on March 23, which was cited as a major source of coronavirus in the early stages of the transmission of the pandemic in the country.
The foreign nationals are said to be from Saudi Arabia, China , the US, Ukraine, Sudan, Philippines, Brazil, Afghanistan, Australia, Russia, France, Egypt and Jordan, media reports stated.
