Minor girl tries to leave newborn baby after delivery in UP
Bareilly: A minor girl, who gave birth to a baby girl, tried to leave her newborn in the hospital. The hospital staff who noticed this became alert and informed the police. This incident happened at Bareilly in UP.
According to the police, A minor girl who suffered labour pains was brought to Bareilly government hospital by her father at midnight on Friday. The doctors conducted medical tests and delivered the baby. The minor mother has given birth to a baby girl.
However, the mother tried to leave the baby, as she was not yet got married, and it would be disgraceful if anyone came to know about it in society. She tried to escape from the hospital with her father by leaving the newborn in the hospital. The hospital staff noticed this, caught them and informed to the police.
On receiving the information, the police reached the hospital and inquired with the girl's father. In the interrogation, the girl's father said that he doesn't know about his daughter's pregnancy, he took her to hospital as she complained of severe stomach pain.
Over questioning the mother, where the minor girl said that she is not yet married, and confirmed that she would not take the newborn baby with her. Though the child welfare committee members have given her counselling, she still refused to take the baby.
Speaking on the occasion, the child welfare committee member DN Sharma said that both mother and child are safe. The minor girl refused to take the newborn baby in spite of giving counselling to her.
