MNS Leader Flays MIM's Waris Pathan Over Provocative Remarks
Maharashtra Navnirman Sangh (MNS) leader Bala Nandgaonkar on Thursday hit back at former AIMIM Byculla MLA, Waris Pathan, for his remark claiming 15 crores Muslims could dominate over 100 crore Hindus. The MNS leader wondered who the 15 crores Muslims Pathan is referring to are. He wondered if they are from Pakistan and Bangladesh.
The MNS leader added, that "Muslims in our country is our people." He warned Waris Pathan saying the next time he says such things, he will not be seen in Byculla. Instead, he will have to go and stay with Owaisi, Nandgaonkar said.
Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut also questioned Waris Pathan's presumptuous assertion that he and his party represented Indian Muslims. Raut warned the MIM leader against making such statements and reminded him that the Muslims of Maharashtra stood by the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance in the state.
RJD's Tejashwi Yadav told ANI that Waris Pathan's remarks were condemnable and that he should be arrested. Tejashwi Yadav further said that AIMIM is working like a B-team of BJP. "Similarly, leaders like Anurag Thakur and Parvesh Varma should also be arrested," he added.
Meanwhile, in Bengaluru, the student-activist, Amulya Leona who raised slogans of "Pakistan Zindabad", was held on charges of sedition and sent to custody till February 23. Shocked by her sloganeering, her father, Oswald Narona condemned her behaviour and said that he did not wish to contact her.
Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa remarked that Amulya should not get bail. He added that she had Naxal links.
Karnataka Minister CT Ravi told ANI that he condemned the incident. Such traitors should not be let off, he added. The Karnataka Minister asserted that sedition charges should be pressed against her.
