MP CM Kamal Nath Summons All Congress MLAs To Bhopal
Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath has on Friday, reportedly summoned all Congress MLAs to the state capital, Bhopal. The chief minister's decision comes in the wake of claims and counterclaims by the Congress and BJP over the poaching of MLAs in the state. The Congress has accused the BJP of trying to lure its MLAs with huge amounts of money ranging from Rs.25 crores to Rs.35 crores ahead of the Rajya Sabha elections.
Refuting allegations by the Congress, the BJP has said that infighting in the Congress party is responsible for the developments in the state. The BJP pointed a finger at senior Congress leader and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Digvijay Singh claiming that he was engineering a crisis in his party to ensure his re-nomination to the upper house of parliament.
A fresh twist overtook the Madhya Pradesh political drama with reports of the alleged resignation of Congress MLA Hardip Singh Dang on Thursday. Dang was elected to the Vidhan Sabha from Suvasra constituency in Mandsaur district.
The Congress MLA is said to be holed up in Bengaluru with three other party legislators and an independent MLA. However, Congress leader Digvijay Singh said that the Kamal Nath government in the state was stable and that no party MLA had resigned.
The Congress has accused the BJP of trying to topple the Kamal Nath-led government in Madhya Pradesh. It claimed that the BJP was wooing its legislators with money bags.
