MP woman murders husband, stores dead body under kitchen slab for a month
Madhya Pradesh: A 32-year-old woman has been accused of killing her husband in Madhya Pradesh's Anuppur district. Further, he has been accused of burying him under the kitchen slab where she hid the body for over a month, and continue to cook there.
The victim, identified as 35-year-old Mahesh Banawal, an advocate, was reported missing from his house at Karondi village on October 22. The police registered the complaint put forth by his wife, Pramila.
The case took a turn when the victim's elder brother Arjun Banawal approached the police on November 21. He stated that since his brother went missing, his wife Pramila discouraged everyone to visit their home. "We have tried to go to our brother's house several times in the past one month but every time his wife turns us away hurling abuses at us while holding us responsible for Mahesh's disappearance," Arjun told the police.
On receiving the statement, the police reached the victim's house, where the foul odour of a dead body welcomed them. The police identified that the kitchen slab was the source of the foul smell. The team dug under the slab to find the victim's decomposed body. The murderer had continued to use the kitchen slab to cook for over a month.
The murderer alleged that her husband was having an affair with her eldest sister-in-law, and the murder was planned by both her and her brother-in-law. The other family member, however, denied the accusation. Police have stated that they suspect another person's involvement in the murder, as burying the body under a kitchen slab would require assistance. The police stated that the case is being probed.
