Nirbhaya Case: Jail Authorities Inform Convicts About Last Meeting With Kin
New Delhi: Tihar Jail authorities have officially informed all the four death row convicts in the horrific 2012 Nirbhaya gang rape and murder case about their last meeting with their families. A Tihar Jail official told the news agency, ANI, that the prison authorities had written to all four Nirbhaya case convicts in connection with their last meeting with their families.
The Tihar Jail authorities stated that Mukesh and Pawan were told that they had already met their families before the February 1 death warrant. The other two convicts, Akshay and Vinay Sharma have been asked to decide on when they want to meet their kith and kin.

Media reports on Saturday stated that convict Pawan Gupta refused to meet his counsel.
The Patiala House court has set February 3 as the date of execution of the four convicts in the Nirbhaya case. Mukesh Singh, Dinesh Sharma, Vinay Sharma, Akshay and Pawan Gupta are scheduled to be hanged to death in Tihar Jail in the early hours of February 3 as per the court order.
Meanwhile, Nirbhaya's mother, Asha Devi, deplored the delay in carrying out the hanging of the four convicts. Criticising human rights activists speaking on behalf of the death row convicts, she wondered if she and her daughter did not have any rights. They have been running around from court to court pursuing justice in the case, she pointed.
