Normal air traffic resumes on India - Pakistan airspace after both countries lift bans

Update: 2019-07-16 11:24 IST

Normal air traffic has resumed over South Asia with both countries lifting the bans in their respective air spaces.

News agency ANI quoted government agencies saying,"Consequent to Pakistan issuing Notam [A notice to airmen] to lift airspace restrictions, relevant authorities have informed that India has also issued revised Notam immediately thereafter,"

140 days after Indian Air Force jets struck terror camps in Pakistan's Balakot region, Pakistan liftwd their ban.

Air India suffered a huge financial loss of around Rs 491 crore during the ban as it had to re-route its various international flights. Things are looking better for the airline now that the ban is lifted.
