Oppn 'maha rally' on March 31
New Delhi: The Opposition INDIA bloc is organising a ‘maha rally’ at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi on March 31 to "protect the country's interests and democracy", announced AAP leader Gopal Rai on Sunday.
The announcement comes after the arrest of Delhi Chief MinisterArvind KejriwalArvind Kejriwalby the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday in connection with a money-laundering case linked to an excise policy.
"We will hold a 'maha rally' at Ramlila Maidan on March 31 against what is happening in the country. The top leadership of the INDIA bloc will participate in the event," Rai, the AAP's Delhi convenor, said. "Democracy and the country are in danger. All INDIA bloc parties will take part in this 'maha rally' to safeguard the country's interests and democracy," he added.
The AAP leader accused the ruling BJP of orchestrating arrests under false pretenses, alleging a lack of evidence in the excise policy case against Kejriwal. Rai claimed that individuals were coerced to implicate Kejriwal and make financial contributions to the BJP. He underscored the collective efforts of the opposition to counter such practices and protect the country's democratic values.
