PM meditates inside holy cave

Dehradun: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday arrived here in Uttarakhand on a two-day visit. He offered prayers and meditated at a Kedarnath cave and will visit Badrinath shrine on Sunday.

Early in the day, Modi arrived at the Jollygrant airport after the whirlwind election campaigning for the Lok Sabha elections. He was scheduled to fly directly from Jollygrant to Kedarnath.

After spending the night at Kedarnath, Modi would fly to Badrinath on Sunday. He would return to New Delhi on the same day later.

BJP Uttarakhand president Ajay Bhatt said this is "just a spiritual visit" of the Prime Minister and the people of the state are excited about it.

Earlier, the PMO had sought the views of the EC on the two-day official visit of Modi to Uttarakhand.
