Kokrajhar, Assam: Prime Minister Narendra Modi kept up his attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi by remarking that people's love would serve as a protective covering or armour for him against all 'dandas' or sticks. He was taking a dig at the Wayanad MP for his comments made at an election rally in Delhi on Wednesday that the youth of the country would beat the minister with prime minister with 'dandas' or sticks on the issue of unemployment.

PM Modi thanked all those who worked for the Bodo Accord. He added that this would bring an end to all violence which had plagued the state of Assam. He hailed the Bodo leaders and all others responsible for bringing violence to an end. "This is a victory of peace and humanity," he remarked.

Prime Minister Modi said that politics of hatred will not work in Assam. The Bodo Accord paved the way for a lasting peace in the region, he observed.

The Prime Minister referred to the celebrations which marked the signing of the historic accord with people lighting lamps across the state in huge numbers. PM Modi said that though he had visited Assam on several occasions he had not seen such enthusiasm and people in such large numbers.

PM Modi congratulated the Bodos and the people of Assam on the landmark pact signed in the year of Mahatma Gandhi's 150th anniversary. He also welcomed the decision of all those associated with the Bodoland movement to give up violence and join the national mainstream.
