PM Modi shares his likes, life moments with Akshay Kumar
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Akshay Kumar recently had a conversation, wherein the PM shared a happy moment with the actor and told him about his likes and life in broadly. Labeled as a "non-political interview" he shared certain things with Akshay Kumar.
He never thought he would become the Prime Minister. A common person doesn't consider that. "The kind of background I come from, even if I got a simple job, my mother would have been distributing ladoos to neighbors," the PM said.
Previously, he never had a bank account. "When I was in school, people from Dena Bank came and gave us a piggy bank. I did not have enough money. Later, the bank officials tracked me and they wanted to close the account due to inactivity. Thirty-two years later, they told me I had an account since childhood," he recalled.
He told the actor that he was quite the wanderer and found answers to his own questions. "I have been on my own since I was very young. That led to a feeling of detachment. Well ahead, even if I called my mother to live with me, she wanted to spend time in her village. Also, I didn't get enough time to spend with her," he said.
He admitted that he does not get angry easily but thinks that it's a part of human nature. He said that these are emotions that just spread negativity. From the moment his career arose, he has never had an opportunity to express anger. "There's a difference between anger and being strict. You just have to ensure discipline at times," quoted the PM.
Moreover, he follows Akshay Kumar and wife, Twinkle Khanna on Twitter. He believes that the way she targets him, he understands that there must be peace in the actor's family life as all her anger must have been spent on him and so the actor must be at peace. "People will be surprised and I should not say this in the election season, but Mamata didi sends me gifts every year. She still sends me one or two kurtas that she picks herself a year," the PM admitted.
He mentioned that cleanliness is also important to promote tourism and his inspiration has always been Mahatma Gandhi. Moreover, the construction of nine crore toilets is the nation's achievement, not his. Lastly, as he's highly active on social media, he also reads Twitter posts and has fun in doing so. "I enjoy Twitter memes. I look less at Modi and more at the creativity. The biggest benefit of social media to me is that I can understand the common man's thoughts," he added.
