PM Modi To Hold All-Party Meet Today Over Galwan Valley Face-Off With China

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a meeting with leaders of 15 political parties today (Friday) over the tensions with China and the violent clash of troops in the Galwan Valley which resulted in the loss of lives of 20 Indian Army personnel, including the Commanding Officer, Col. B. Santosh Babu, on Monday night. Prime Modi's Office had announced on Wednesday that PM Modi had called for an all-party meeting with leaders over the Indo-China border row, on Friday at 5 pm.

Congress Interim President, Sonia Gandhi, Telangana Chief Minister, K. Chandrashekhar Rao representing Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy representing his party, YSRCP, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, representing Janata Dal (United), Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, West Bengal chief miniister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo, Mamata Banerjee, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Jharkhand Chief Minister, Hemant Soren, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) supremo Sharad Pawar, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) chief MK Stalin, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Singh Badal, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu, BJD leader Pinaki Mishra, Samajwadi party chief Akhilesh Yadav, CPI (M) general secretary, Sitaram Yechury, CPI leader D. Raja and Lok Jan Shakti (LJP) leader Chirag Paswan, will attend the virtual conclave.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) pointed a finger at the NDA government claiming that they have not been invited to the all-party meet. However, it was clarified that only parties with 5 or more MPs have been invited to participate in the all-party meet. AAP has 4 MPs and therefore, did not receive an invite.

The all-party meeting called by the Prime Minister comes even as the Congress and BJP-led Centre sparred over the tensions on the border.
