PM Modi Urges Unity Against Corruption, Dynasticism, and Appeasement On Quit India Movement Anniversary

On the occasion of the 81st anniversary of the Quit India Movement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appeared to take a dig at the Opposition, asserting that India now stands united against corruption, dynasticism, and appeasement. Reflecting on the historical movement, PM Modi posted on X (formerly Twitter), "Salutations to those who participated in the Quit India Movement. Led by Gandhi Ji, this movement played a pivotal role in liberating India from colonial rule. Today, India is resolutely declaring: Corruption, Quit India. Dynasty, Quit India. Appeasement, Quit India."

Meanwhile, BJP MP and former union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad echoed PM Modi's sentiments, emphasizing that family-based governance and corruption must be eradicated from India to safeguard democracy. He stated, "Widespread family rule in politics, step aside from India. Rampant corruption, vacate India. Appeasement politics, leave India. To uphold our nation's democratic foundation, these problems—family rule and corruption—must exit our country."

Prasad further criticized the concept of family dynasties in politics, pointing out that leadership positions are often inherited regardless of capability. He questioned whether the Congress party genuinely envisions Rahul Gandhi as fit to lead a country as vast as India.

PM Modi has frequently accused opposition parties of pursuing politics centered around corruption, dynasty, and appeasement, urging citizens to reject such approaches.

Earlier on Tuesday, PM Modi took a swipe at the opposition, suggesting that their no-confidence motion against his government was an attempt to assess the mutual trust among their own alliance members. He highlighted that the INDIA bloc is marked by internal distrust among its constituents.
