Central Government has taken a very serious note of the killing of an elephant in Mallapuram, #Kerala. We will not leave any stone unturned to investigate properly and nab the culprit(s). This is not an Indian culture to feed fire crackers and kill.@moefcc @PIB_India @PIBHindi

The Kerala government has ordered an investigation into the incident and an FIR has been registered in the case. However, media reports pointed out that the unfortunate incident took place in Palakkad of Kerala and not in Malappuram, as was widely reported.
Noted industrialist Ratan Tata was among those who expressed their outrage and described the killing of the elephant as pre-meditated murder. He hoped that justice would prevail.
